SF Kids Camera Club Camps are designed for children ages 4–11 and run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Each day, we take full advantage of Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, and the Sunset and Richmond neighborhoods, exploring a wide range of photography subjects such as portraits, landscapes, motion, shape, texture, and more.
During our week-long camps, children will have access to a digital camera and will learn foundational photography concepts and techniques in a hands-on, age-appropriate way. Campers will also visit one to two museums throughout the week—possible destinations include SFMOMA, MoAD, and the de Young, depending on current exhibits.
For safety on museum visits and public transportation, children must be able to follow directions and use first-time listening while riding the bus and walking as a group. In addition to photography, campers will engage in nature-inspired art projects, using the surrounding environment to deepen their creative thinking and connection to place.
Most importantly, Camera Club is all about creativity, curiosity, and having lots of fun!
