Do children need photography experience to attend?
No prior photography experience is required. Camps are designed for beginners as well as children who have some familiarity with using a camera.
What ages is the camp for?
SF Kids Camera Club camps are for children ages 4–11.
What does “first time listening” mean?
First time listening means that campers are able to follow directions when they are given, especially for safety-related instructions. This is important because we walk throughout Golden Gate Park and ride public transportation together.
Do campers ride the bus?
Yes. Campers must be able to ride the bus safely, walk with the group, and listen to instructions in busy public spaces.
Do children need to bring their own camera?
No. We provide digital cameras for all campers to use. Children may bring their own camera if they prefer, but families understand that we cannot be responsible for damage or loss of personal equipment.
What is included in the cost of camp?
Camp tuition includes use of a camera, a journal, museum entry fees, and a printed photo keepsake or book that is delivered approximately two weeks after camp ends.
What should my child bring each day?
Campers should bring their own backpack with a snack, lunch, water bottle, and layers or a hat. Camp is held rain or shine, so children should be dressed for walking and all weather.
